Scratch rums are made in Hertfordshire, England by Scratch Rum Distillery using British refined molasses and local ingredients. The rums are made by fermenting the molasses with a variety of yeast strains, then blending it with water from the distillery's estate well. The rums are aged in oak casks, including American Bourbon, Scotch whisky, and charred new oak. Scratch rums are then double distilled in a copper pot still and only the finest cuts, or "hearts", are bottled. The rums contain no added sugar, spices, or colorings.
