Phraya rum is a luxury rum from Thailand that's known for its rich, complex taste and has won several awards. The rum is made from molasses and distilled using a traditional method at the Sangsom distillery in Nakhon Pathom province, west of Bangkok. The rum is then aged for 7–12 years in warehouses built on stilts in the tropical climate of Southeast Asia. The maturation technique is designed to suit the humid climate and draws out an exotic taste. Phraya rum is inspired by the four elements: earth, water, fire, and air.
